Just a few days ago kids from all over the world celebrated Halloween. Our church even entered a float into Alton’s Halloween parade. I commissioned the float, helped construct it, then walked with it in the parade. Our church even had a Trunk or Treat on the Sunday evening prior to Halloween.

My post today is for those who believe that Halloween is Satan’s Holliday and as such, the church should boycott anything and everything about this day.  Now while I am in complete agreement with us refusing the things that have a clear connection with the evil aspects of this day, I refuse to accept that there is a day or a place that the church cannot go.

I believe that October 31 was a day created for God to be praised long before Halloween came to be. If Satan or the world stole it, then let’s take it back!  We can’t do that at home with the blinds drawn, sitting in a back room with the lights out!  Just a thought.

Cute Float I might say! I have yet to figure out how to handle Halloween it’s always bothered me. But I
believe that a person that does not wish to participate can pray for
the ones that are for their protection from the evils of this world. Especially with the times getting so bad these days. God Bless you

I agree with you 100%. I just think that believers get too engrossed in the decorating for Halloween and dressing up their children and going trick or treating. I think Fall Festivals are a great idea, but let’s not make it look so much like Halloween and more about praising the Lord and changing the mindset of our children.

I always pray a lot around Halloween because I too have grandchildren and children that don’t think it’s wrong to participate and dress up. I continue to pray for prodigals to come home to the Truth of the Word. Let’s stop conforming to the world!

Satanist use this day to fast and pray, so we should be doing the same; fasting and praying against all his evil plans. Our float this year had a great theme — use that to teach the world about good and evil…it exists and we have to know how to do war in the spiritual realm; something many believers have forgotten about or don’t even know about.

Thank you Pastor for your teaching! I love that you are not afraid to speak the truth…so teach the church more about this. I’m with you and praying for you daily because I know that Satan doesn’t like it when we are bold about God. May the Lord Almighty continue to bless you and yours.
